STRUCTURE AND GOVERNANCE
KRREA was incorporated as a BC society in March 2007. .
KRREA is governed by a 14 member Board of Directors; 12 of whom are nominated and 2 are appointed ex-officio provincial and federal government agency representatives. Members of the Board are volunteers who serve 2 year terms. The Board is business-led and oriented. Members are leaders in business or economic development, understand the issues and opportunities in the region, have a strong regional economic vision, and represent the diverse industry sectors of the region’s economy and the region’s geographic areas. Members are KRREA partners or members of an organization, businesses or institution that is a KRREA partner.
The organization has one full-time employee, an Executive Director. Human resources required for initiatives, projects or programs and administrative support are engaged on a contract basis.
The Board governance model is a blend leaning towards the complementary model. Board policies clearly delineate authorities, responsibilities, financial processes and management duties. No restrictions are placed on the Board by any outside authority.
KRREA is a non-partisan, non-political organization.
KRREA funds its core operations and activities, projects and programs through annual partner contributions and private and public sector funding sources.
